New
StaySail Faculty-member: Lesly Jules.
Lesly Jules, a Thierry PhD-candidate from
Haiti who participated in this year's Summer-program in Belgium, joins the
Graduate School's faculty in the
capacity of StaySail Coach-Lecturer, with specialty fields in
entrepreneurship, and organizational development of NGO's.
In
his professional work Lesly assists international organizations
that provide technical assistance to local non-governmental
organizations, capacity-building being the main focal area. He also taught
during five years at the Quisqueya University in Haiti, enhancing his
courses by the experience he gained in marketing, business development,
and strategic planning, in the corporate field, and in the non-profit
sector. Lesly has traveled extensively, in countries of Latin and
Central America, North-America, Africa, Europe and the Indian Ocean. His
initial education is in economics; he obtained a Bachelor degree from
the State University of Haiti. Later on he earned a postgraduate diploma
in business and entrepreneurship from the IFE in Mauritius. His book
"Le Guide de la Création d'Entreprise en Haïti", a practical
guide for entrepreneurs, was published in 2003. Lesly is one of the
founders, and the chairman, of the recently established “Centre Spécialisé de Leadership”, a Haitian not-for-profit educational
institution that provides continuing education opportunities for
executives, more specifically in the fields of leadership and
management. As a PhD-candidate at our Graduate School Lesly blends his
curriculum with his professional activity. During our 2006
Residential Summer-Program he lectured on The Importance of Ownership and Participation in Leading
Sustainable Change’.
