'TuitionBridge' and 'Augendo': new financial aid tools
Brussels, 6 January 2006
TuitionBridge
and Augendo are the new instruments for financial aid
offered to a number of program-participants at the Thierry Graduate
School. Augendo, a Latin-word meaning "for the purpose of
growing", encapsulates the financial aid and grants system for
program-participants in low and middle-income countries. It also
integrates the funding that had previously been created for the emerging
leaders in the South East Asia disaster areas, and in certain parts of
Africa and the Middle East. Augendo is an integral part of TuitionBridge.
TuitionBridge is the new name of the Graduate School's financial
aid system. Its mode of financing is identical to the preceding
years : all of the program-participants of the Graduate School
contribute to it, a fraction of each person's tuition fees being
allocated to the funding. This mode of self-sustained financing,
combined with some benevolent work undertaken by our faculty-members,
supports our Graduate School's concept of solidarity, and esprit de corps
-
the common spirit existing in the members
of a group; inspiring enthusiasm or service; and strong regard for the honour of the group.
In
view of the fact that there is an ever-increasing flow of qualifying
individuals in low and middle-income countries who request admission
into our online-based programs, the Graduate School will, in the very
near future, undertake the necessary steps for obtaining supplemental
Augendo-funding by
external bona fide sponsors.
