Twin Curriculum: Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Advanced Leadership Studies, and the PhD Degree Programme in Leadership (and Mastery of Change)

Application,  admission, available places, and  programme-start.

With the aim of meeting the person-centredness and the quality-objectives of our programmes, the number of places in our Twin Curriculum is limited. In total there are only twenty-eight places available in the programme in which English is the language of instruction and coaching, and for participants who attend the bilingual English-French programme. Places become available as soon as in-programme participants complete the first three pillars of the Twin PGD + PhD Curriculum.

To qualify for admission an applicant has to meet a number of requirements; the major ones are:

the strong will or intrinsic drive (calling) to evolve or grow into a major role in the fields of human development, leader(ship) education, environmental leadership, or, in more general terms, in organisational, community, or societal improvement or growth;

  the demonstration of at least 10 years of relevant full-time professional experience, with a leadership component (e.g. experience in leading and/or education), and preferably acquired after having obtained a Masters degree. For further reference, the average age of our PhDs is 43 (range is +/- 37 to 55 years of age).

  the need to have previously earned a masters degree   lmportant, please read the pertaining regulation, click  here.

the necessity of being able to combine professional activity, and personal life, with study. Major portions of the programme require self-led timing of opportunities for learning, and in an asynchronous mode (i.e. curriculum pace is individual, and courses completed one by one).

the willingness to participate in cross-cultural relationship-building. This aspect refers specifically to the two-week Summer residence programme-module, during which there is extensive interaction with fellow participants from many nations, cultures, and professional environments around the world.

In some cases the applicant must demonstrate that he/she has been admitted into or attends a PhD programme at another educational institution.

Admitted applicants generally start their programmes at the beginning of a given month, between August and November, or between January and May (no programme starts in December, June, or July) . Please contact the Director in order to obtain information about the availability of places

  Requests for additional information about the programme, the application procedure, the place availability, tuition-fee levels, financial assistance, ... should be addressed directly to Prof. Jean-Pierre Bal, Executive Director of the Graduate School. Please include your CV (vita or bio) as an email-attachment, and send it to:  directorate@thierryschool.be
