Wade H. Britt

PhD Candidate, Class of 2009; MainSail Coach-lecturer,

Specialty area: Values, Ethics and Responsible Conduct of Leaders

The pace of change and complexity of modern times demand a strong anchoring in one’s own ethical framework. Wade advocates the practical use of ethics in day-to-day life. Through coaching, Wade seeks to assist others in their pursuit of defining and developing their own ethical values.

Wade’s corporate experience spans more than a decade with a leading global transportation company. His various management roles have given him expertise in programme and change management in a global context. To date, his work has moved him to postings in England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and in the Far East (one year in Singapore and another year in Mumbai, India). His various roles have thus allowed him to evolve in multi-country clusters, and in regional operations for a global organisation.

Wade became a  Thierry Faculty member in 2004, when he combined his corporate career with higher education. In the fall of 2007 he undertook a major career step, by moving entirely into the field of higher education, joining the US-based Kaplan University in the capacity of Executive Director, Academic Operations..

Prior to his private sector work, Wade gained further practical experience working in the US Senate as well as the South Carolina House of Representatives. In terms of his formal education Wade earned a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Philosophy, and a Masters in International Business, from the University of South Carolina, USA. Wade also studied contemporary French business at the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie in Paris.

He is presently based in Florida, from where he e-coaches programme-participants worldwide (in the online Hercules-version of our Masters in Leadership), while staying in close touch with the School's directorate in Brussels. Since 2004 Wade also offers a one-day workshop-lecture on Aristotle's ethics, a course held each year during the Summer residential programme in Belgium.  He is also working toward his PhD-degree, attends our institution's online doctorate curriculum, and aims at a thesis (dissertation) completion as a Class of 2009 graduate.
