Wafa Maalouf StaySail Coach-lecturer, as a Ph.D. programme-participant Specialty area: Nursing Leadership Development, Healthcare Organisations
She is currently the Acting Director for Nursing Services at St George Hospital in Beirut; coordinating and directing operational activities; supervising staffing issues, and responding to nursing units’ needs for human and financial resources, thus ensuring a consistent implementation of quality services. Wafa held a pivotal role of initiating the adaptation of the automated medical documentation at the hospital.
She
is also, and since 1997, a part-time
instructor at the University of Balamand's Nursing
Program, and teaches undergraduate nursing students the basic principles
of leadership and
management in their field. Wafa is a member in the Sigma
Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing
since 1994, and a member in the Lebanese
Order of Nurses since 2002.
She earned her Bachelor degree in Nursing, and her
Master of Arts in Educational Psychology, from the American University
of Beirut, and has spent a full year at Emory University, Atlanta, as
a Hubert Humphrey Fellow attending graduate studies in Nursing
Administration and in Health
Information System. Wafa is a strong believer in life long learning and its
positive impact on one’s life practices. Her studies for the doctorate
degree in leadership at our Graduate School are in progress, and she
attended and lectured at the 2006 edition of our Summer residential
program (picture at the right)..
