The THIERRY programmes in Leadership, online distance learning format and e-coaching mode
. Advances in educational methods, applied to leader development With its pioneering and 'journey' type of approach in grooming leaders and leader-educators, our leadership school has been described as a forerunner in its field. To some degree our institution owes its knack for innovation to the inspiring ancestor academy which was founded more than twelve hundred years ago. The ancient school focused on leadership renewal, albeit with the goals, the scope, and the means that corresponded with its own timeframe. Its leadership legacy is partly transposed in the aims of our school: to address the leadership challenges of our 21st century's society and civilisation. Our educational approach meets the evolving needs of professionally active individuals who have the determination to combine work and personal life with study, and to learn more effective leadership by means of guided self-study. As a member of the online community of fellow-students each participant benefits from the continuous (e-)coaching and mentoring support provided by experienced e-leadership faculty members. Pioneering, milestones, and recent developments The THIERRY internet-based distance learning courses and programs are based on a very effective methodology, including personalised e-coaching. The online-based version of our Master of Arts in Leadership curriculum, called "Hercules", was launched in 2002. It was the very first online leadership curriculum leading to a degree, to have been designed and offered by an institution of higher education based in the European Union. The Environmental ("Green") Leadership online graduate curriculum was the very first of its type in the entire world. In 2004-2005 our postgraduate curriculum leading to a PhD degree in leadership, became Europe's first distance education doctoral programme in the comprehensive and core field of study of leadership and change,. Courses are offered in a blended mode that combines online modules, e-coaching, and summer residencies. More recently, since May 2010 the THIERRY distance learning programmes are offered conjointly with INSIL, the international higher institute for leadership based in France (Institut Supérieur International de Leadership). Postgraduate diploma and Ph.D. in Leadership and Mastery of Change. The postgraduate doctoral curricula and programmes are offered in several modes, online, hybrid, and blended learning. Most course units, for example in leadership, mastery of change, organisational development, ethics, adult education, leadership development , executive coaching, human dynamics,... are available in an online-based or blended learning mode. > More.
