Effectiveness and outstanding quality are the main strongholds of the THIERRY leadership development programmes (the masters and doctorate curricula in particular). The e-coached online distance education modes of our accredited MA, EML, MPhil, and PhD programmes are offered via our international Online Leadership Academy (also known as THIERRY Online, based in Belgium, Europe). Distance learning programme-participants around the world attend our practice-oriented curricula offered in several hybrid (blended) learning variants.

Advances in Methods applied to Leader Development

With its pioneering approach to leadership development, our leadership school is often regarded as a forerunner in its field. Our institution partly owes its “tradition” for innovation to the inspiring ancestor academy founded more than twelve hundred years ago. The ancient school set the stage for leadership renewal, albeit with the goals, the scope, and the means that corresponded with its own timeframe. Its leadership legacy is embedded into our school's aim of addressing the challenges of our 21st century's society and civilisation.

The THIERRY internet-based courses are based on a very effective methodology in e-coached internet-based distance learning. The online-version of our Master of Arts in Leadership curriculum, called "Hercules", was launched in 2002. It was the very first online leadership degree-curriculum created and offered by an institution of higher education based in the European Union. As for our PhD programme, it is the first European doctorate curriculum focusing specifically on leadership and change, and offered in online and blended learning formats.

Our educational methods meet the evolving needs of professionally active individuals who have the determination to combine work and personal life with study, and to learn more effective leadership by means of guided self-study. As a member of the online community of fellow-students each participant benefits from the continuous (e-)coaching and mentoring support by our top-level e-leadership faculty.

The nautilos, a special screen-navigator designed specifically for online leadership learning and development, is used exclusively in our programmes. It was created by our Graduate School's staff and is based on a design technique that functions with the standard software found on all computers around the world.
