Accreditation of programmes and awarding of degrees
Status: Our Graduate School, based in Belgium, is a private, autonomous (non-subsidised), and non-profit institution offering specialised higher education in leadership and mastery of change (see also: Our Roots). This specialisation is structurally similar to that of a Special Focus Institution (S-Postbac/S-Doc categories) in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education (USA).
Initially, and mainly on grounds of its statutes (codex), or raison d'être, and of its internationality, the Graduate School did not seek recognition via the linguistic Community-bound and state-subsidised educational systems of Belgium specifically. Chronology-wise this choice was also prior to the Belgian implementation Decrees in relation to the so-called Bologna Process in the European Union. Therefore, and in view of the innovative nature of the THIERRY programmes (based on the concept that leadership is an interdisciplinary domain but also a discipline of study of its own); of the main language of instruction (English); and of the importance of its intercontinental distance education (online) curricula, the School sought, and obtained, a worldwide accreditation for each of its degree-programmes, and for each mode of instruction. These modes are the in-classroom (group), online distance learning (individual), blended or hybrid (group and individual), and personal tutorship ("master-scholar") ones.
Programmes: The Masters (MA, EML, and MPhil) and Coryphaeus curricula of our Graduate School are accredited by the UCRED since 2003, and the Doctorate programme since 2005. For further explanations please review the information provided on the section-website of the Council (> external link). As a whole our curricula meet or exceed the internationally accepted academic standards, especially with regard to the recommendations that have been addressed in 2006 by the United Nations, the UNESCO, the OECD, and related organisations, to the governmental agencies around the world. That is of particular relevance to the THIERRY-programmes offered in a distance learning (online) mode. This mode of learning is recognised in most countries of the world, or is in the process of being accepted in the other countries currently implementing the international recommendations for approved (recognised) online-based programmes offered by foreign institutions.
Master and Doctor degrees: Successful completion of a programme's curriculum and thesis requirements leads to the awarding of an internationally recognised degree. Brexgata University Academy, the independent intercontinental academic member-assembly, awards the degrees, on the recommendation of the Faculty of our Graduate School. Brexgata holds this official authority by virtue of an official Exceptional Inter-Collegiate Charter (University Academy's website > external link). (please also [1] in the footnote). In case a student completed his/her curriculum under the provisions of a special (co-)tutelage (inter-university tutelle or cotutelle) agreement and system with or by a recognised (partner-)institution in the student's home-country or country of residence, then the degree will be granted in accordance with the provisions set forth in the agreement between the institutions.
For additional information please contact the Executive Director's Office of the Graduate School at: directorate@thierryschool.be
[1] For a period of five years, ending on 31 August 2008. As of September 2008 the Graduate School awards the degrees, under the provisions and by the authority specified in the Charter passed directly onto the Graduate School.

silence often produces the same effect as science"
"Nothing that results from human
progress is achieved with unanimous consent.
And those who are enlightened before the
