Main location: Brussels, and Belgium, at the Heart of Europe

The past years were, in many regards, greatly transforming ones for our Graduate School. Aiming at providing the best possible support to our  learning communities, we continuously evaluate new options. That process builds further on the most important recent developments:

[1]  Our Graduate School has become a Europe-based international knowledge centre for applied knowledge and expertise in leadership, aimed at emerging and practising leaders, and also at leader-educators who (will) lead various types of projects, leadership development programs and curricula, around the world. Our Online Leadership unit (THIERRY Online) has been crowned with success; the admission-requests for our distance and blended learning masters and doctorate programs in leadership are growing continuously. The School's online documentation service also integrates an impressive internet-based library (the Thierry e-library).

[2]  In view of the relatively humble size of our highly specialised School, and of the availability of many external course-sites (class- and conference-rooms) in and around Brussels, the School has cancelled its earlier plan of establishing an urban or city campus. The granting of financial assistance to qualifying programme-participants is considered more important than the  possible investments in "bricks-and-mortar". After the 2000-2003 start-up phase of the School's central operations in Brussels, the main office and the library were relocated to the Directorate's city office near the ULB/VUB campus area. The use of the outdoors site remains unchanged. (see further below).

[3]  Our international Summer Residential Seminar-program (also known as The Thierry Summit) is a key event held each year in July. Participants from around the world meet; learn, and exchange their experiences during two full weeks, in a warm-hearted student-family type of atmosphere.

The campus: a most "classic" one

Alongside the courses offered in-classroom, and via the internet, our Graduate School uses an outdoors campus, located in the southern part of Belgium (Ardennes region, near Durbuy). The site is composed of an ancient mansion, surrounded by a botanical garden and rivulets.

Most of the lectures and workshops taking place at that location are embedded in our masters, doctorate, rootstock, and summer programmes.

By means of the mansion and greens the term "campus"' is expressed in its most authentic form, quite alike Plato's classical academy.  >> More about the Ardennes academy

Other locations: Europe and overseas.  A number of programmes or curriculum components can be offered in other European and worldwide locations. This is for instance the case for the Coryphaeus CEO curriculum, and for the corporation-hosted (corporate university) Executive Master in Leadership programmes. Within the framework of intercollegiate cooperation and co-tutelage frameworks the Thierry Graduate School Master of Arts programme can also be offered, in part or in its entirety,  at other colleges and universities around the world.
