Dual Programme: Graduate Diploma curriculum in Applied Leadership Studies, towards the Master of Arts in Leadership degree

The programme encompasses a wide array of course units and subjects on effective leadership, including practice-oriented topics in, for instance, human behaviour, leader development, and cross-cultural leadership. The more advanced units address organisational strategy and in the mastery of change. Apart from the "mainstream" executive leadership curriculum there is one specialised study-concentration  addressing the societal needs in the field of environmental ("green") leadership (or leadership challenges in the face of, for instance, climate change).  

In all of our programmes the emphasis is placed on progressive learning, building, and growth - from improved self-awareness to optimal self-leadership, to team leadership competencies and organisational leadership development, and interweaved with the initiation, management and mastery of personal and of organisational change processes.Our curricula meet the goals set forth in our institution's educational mission, and in the participants' individual objectives. The learning approach is person-centred and multi-facetted. Year-round no more than 24 programme-participants worldwide attend the THIERRY Dual DAL + MA programme, offered in several learning modes (variants). For the distance learning options of the programme, these are organised conjointly with INSIL, the international higher institute for leadership based in France. 

English is the language of instruction, coaching, and documentation in the entire curriculum. The personalised (e-)coaching and mentoring can also be offered in other languages, thanks to our multi-cultural faculty team, and in some cases through joint-ventures with other institutions worldwide.  

Participants in the Dual Programme attend courses in one of the following learning modes: 

(1) The online e-coached distance education version called  'HERCULES' . This version answers the needs of participants located worldwide. The curriculum includes a residence summer-programme. For details please visit the relevant information by clicking here 

(2) The fully one-to-one tutored and coached programme.  In the history of leadership training, education, and development this exclusive mode of education is the oldest, or most ancient one. This millennium-old method of teaching and learning long predates modern classroom education. At THIERRY it is offered in a special course format including short-duration residencies. (3) The in-classroom and part-time (Executive) This version of our masters programme is a two-year executive type of curriculum offered in evening-sessions and one-day workshops, with personalised coaching, and some e-based courses. (4) The one-to-one tutoring/coaching plus online courses: 'SIRIUS' version, for participants who are based in Western Europe. The individualised  version includes courses of the online-based Hercules, combined with personalised coaching. Details, click > SIRIUS

   Concentrations (specialisations - majors):

The following concentrations are available in the GD + MA programme:

  The Executive Leadership ("ExecLead") concentration is aimed at participants who wish to evolve toward an executive leadership position in a business, public, governmental, or non-governmental organisation, or further enhance their existing leadership skills. The Executive Leadership programme can also be attended as a post-graduate programme, for instance after an MBA degree or another graduate-level study-program (MSc, MPA,...).

 Environmental Leadership: ("TERRA"), a very unique "green" programme for participants who aim at becoming an effective, responsible, strong-willed, environment-focused organisational leader or environmental leadership educator. The TERRA programme emphasises on, for instance, individual, corporate and societal environmental awareness and care; energy management; industrial and public policy and strategy-setting, and the related leadership areas.   Dual Programme modules and courses

The individual leadership learning and development goals are achieved by the completion of course units taken from the set of interlaced modules: Human Nature, Behaviour and Interpersonal Dynamics, Leader(ship) Development, Values and Ethics; Innovative Skills, Universal Knowledge ("Enguerran's Odyssey"), and Mastery of Change (including Strategy, and Personal Dimensions). There are additional opportunities for adjusting the programme's content to meet each participant's needs and longer-term career aims.  

  PhD - post-graduate programme in leadership
