Our MA in Leadership encompasses a wide array of issues found in the area of effective leadership, including practice-oriented topics in, for instance, human behaviour, leader development, and cross-cultural leadership. The more advanced areas are in organisational strategy and in the mastery of change. Apart from the "mainstream" executive leadership curriculum there is one specialised study-concentration that addresses the specific personal and societal needs in the fields of environmental ("green") leadership (leadership for the environment).  

In our programmes the emphasis is placed on progressive learning, building, and growth: from improved self-awareness to optimal self-leadership; further in a correlation with team leadership competencies and organisational leadership development; interweaved with the initiation, management and mastery of personal and of organisational change processes. With the Master of Arts degree-title the Thierry Graduate School's "Leadership is an Art" premise is truly expressed at its best.  

Our Masters curriculum meets the objectives set forth in our School's Educational Mission, and in the Participant's Individual Objectives. The learning approach is person-centred and multi-facetted. Year-round no more than 24 programme-participants worldwide attend the THIERRY Masters programmes offered in several learning modes (see further below). Our degree-curriculum in leadership is internationally accredited; its value is endorsed around the world. The career development and growth opportunities for our graduates are truly excellent.  

English is the language of instruction, coaching, and documentation in the entire curriculum. The personalised coaching and mentoring can also be offered in another language (in French, or Dutch; other language possibilities arising from joint-ventures with other institutions worldwide).  

Participants in the masters programme attend courses by means of one of the following three learning-modes: 

(1) The online e-coached version of the MA, called  'HERCULES' version. This accredited programme-version answers the needs of participants located worldwide. The curriculum also includes one residential Summer-programme held in July of each year (in Belgium). (2) The one-to-one tutoring/coaching plus online courses: 'SIRIUS' version, answers the needs of participants who are based in Western Europe and who pursue an active professional life. (3) The in-classroom part-time 'Class of 2012' version of our Masters programme is a two-year executive type of curriculum offered in evening-sessions and one-day workshops, with personalised coaching, and some e-based courses.    Concentrations (specialisations - majors):

The following concentrations are available in the MA programme:

> The Executive Leadership concentration (in Corporations : "LeadCorp", or in Public Organisations: "ELPO"), is aimed at participants who wish to evolve toward an executive leadership position in a business, public, or non-governmental organisation. The Executive Leadership concentration can also be attended within the framework of a Dual Degree or post-graduate programme framework -- for instance in combination with or after an MBA, MPA, or another graduate-level study-program (MSc,...).

>  Environmental Leadership ("EnviroLead"), a very particular and unique "green" programme for participants who aim at becoming an effective, responsible, strong-willed, environment-focused organisational leader or environmental leadership educator. The EnviroLead provides a strong career-foundation while emphasizing on, for instance, individual, corporate and societal environmental awareness and care; energy management; industrial and public policy and strategy-setting, recycling management, and the related leadership areas.   MA programme modules and courses

The individual leadership learning and development goals are supported by a personalised framework of course-subjects taken from the set of interlaced modules: Human Nature, Behaviour and Interpersonal Dynamics, Leader(ship) Development, Values and Ethics; Innovative Skills, Universal Knowledge ("Enguerran's Odyssey"), and Mastery of Change (including Strategy, and Personal Dimensions). Overall there are ample opportunities for adjusting the programme-content in ways that  meet your needs, expectations, and longer-term career aims.  

Note about the postgraduate sister-programme in leadership education. Our Graduate School offers a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Leadership and Mastery of Change curriculum for participants pursuing or aiming at a career in the specific fields of the education of leadership; management, leadership or organizational training, development or consultancy; organisational psychology and applied behavioural studies; and/or in executive coaching and leadership mentoring. Focal areas of learning in the Ph.D. include, for instance, leadership psychology, the development of complex cognitive processing for leaders, and the design and implementation of comprehensive leadership development programs and frameworks.
